Panoramic from the summit of Mount Olympus hike to 9,026 ft. While not the Highpoint for Salt Lake County Utah, it's the most visually prominent from the East side of the Valley as it rises over 4,000 ft. from its base in Olympus Cove. Just the name conjures images from Ancient Mythology and the mighty Greek Gods Zeus and Athena in full majesty high atop its peaks. While on the summit I met the reigning hiking Zeus and Athena Joe and Shelly. Joe is known for completing five round trips to the summit in one day! With his fastest peak-and-back at just under two-hours. Also on the summit were Mercury and Aphrodite also known as my new friends Tranh and Dayla taking in the mid-day Sun. In the background are other prominent peaks: Broad-Fork Twin-Peaks, Lone Peak, and across Tolcate Canyon, the North Peak of Mount Olympus just 70 ft. shorter at 8,959 ft.
