The Nuovo Falcone is a motorcycle built by Moto Guzzi from 1969 to 1976 and around 16,000 were built. The bike was born in the late sixties at the request of the army, for which a less expensive and less demanding bike to manage than the V7 was needed. Presented at the 1969 Milan Show in the military version (also sold to civilians from September 1970), the civilian version was marketed in 1971, which differed from the one already on the market for its more modern and streamlined lines, instrumentation, front light, the silencer, the final crown with two teeth less and the dynamotor for starting. In 1974 the Nuovo Falcone civilian was revised, adopting new colors, and the Nuovo Falcone Sahara was presented, i.e. the military model with a different color (sand with black frame and silencers). Production of the last Guzzi horizontal single cylinder ceased in 1976, with 13,400 units produced of the military version (including the Sahara) and 2,874 civilian ones. One of the features that make the Nuovo Falcone more appreciated is its constructive simplicity, which allows it to be maintained even by the less expert in mechanics. It was adopted by various public bodies, such as the Carabinieri, Vigili urbani, Vigili del fuoco, Bersaglieri, Guardia di Finanza and other military bodies; a lot was also sold to the Yugoslav police.
