The 125 and 150 versions of the 5V Arcore, presented at the 1971 Milan Motor Show, replace the previous single-cylinder four-stroke and five-speed gearboxes, of the same displacement, which had been a strong point of production in the second half of the years 60. However, it is not a simple reworking, but a real makeover: the motors are strongly "sub-square", the fins have a squared plan, the engine crankcase with a new design. The general layout remains the classic Gilera style, including the last resort to a gearbox with pedal lever on the right of the crankcase and parallel overhead valves with double cylindrical springs. Considerable modernization of the frame, of the type with double continuous lower cradle, equipped with triangles of reinforcement in the most stressed points.
