The California II was replaced in 1987 by the California III, initially with the same 948 cm³ engine. Stylistically much "cruiser" than the previous one, it is declined in different variants but always essentially the same, even if the evolution has never stopped. Since 1990, the Classic (without windshield) and the fully faired FF have been added to the standard version. The engine was available fueled by carburettors or injection. Already in 1991 the catalyzed exhaust was made available.
