The Breva is a naked motorcycle model produced by the Italian company Moto Guzzi from 2003 to 2011. Moto Guzzi introduced this naked touring motorcycle in 2003 at a time of great relaunch of the brand after its acquisition by Aprilia. The first version produced was the so-called "small series", the Breva 750ie which features the classic 744 cm³ transverse 90° V-twin with air cooling. The creation of this first model was based on the pre-existing Moto Guzzi Nevada with the addition of Weber Marelli electronic injection, previously mounted only on "big block" models such as the California and V11. In 2005, with the acquisition of the brand by the Piaggio group, the Breva was redesigned in the "large series" which shares only its name and stylistic approach with the "small" series. This new Breva is initially marketed in the version also equipped with the same type of engine, however with a displacement of 1064 cm³, later with the 850 (877 cm³) and finally with the 1200 (1151 cm³). In the 750 and 850 cm³ models the cooling is by air, while in the 1100 and 1200 cm³ versions there is a small radiator to cool the engine oil. The final transmission is via cardan in all models, on the "big series" the CA.R.C (Compact Reactive Cardan), patented by Moto Guzzi, is adopted, which optimizes performance by reducing the lifting effect typical of this mechanical scheme. The Breva 750ie was also produced in two special editions starting from 2006. The Touring version equipped with semi-rigid bags and a high windshield and a version dedicated to the Municipal or Local Police, this is equipped in some versions with a fairing.
