### **Motion and Its Types**
**Motion**: Motion is the change in position of an object with respect to time and a reference point. It can be described in terms of displacement, velocity, and acceleration.
### **Types of Motion**
1. **Translational Motion**: The object moves along a path in space.
- **Rectilinear Motion**: Motion along a straight line (e.g., a car on a straight road).
- **Curvilinear Motion**: Motion along a curved path (e.g., a ball thrown in a parabolic path).
2. **Rotational Motion**: The object rotates about a fixed axis (e.g., a spinning top).
3. **Oscillatory Motion**: The object moves back and forth about a mean position (e.g., a pendulum).
4. **Periodic Motion**: Motion that repeats itself after a fixed interval of time (e.g., Earth's revolution around the Sun).
5. **Random Motion**: Motion with no specific path (e.g., Brownian motion of particles in fluid).
