“On a stage at Normaltown Hall, a cozy music venue in Athens, Georgia, Kristine Leschper was drunk off champagne. Guitar in tow and in front of a microphone, she prepared to perform as her one-woman act, Mothers, a ripped-from-the-diary folk-rock confessional in which she turns phrases like “I woke up feeling mutilated” and “You love me mostly when I’m leaving” into gut punches of piercing soprano.” — Noisey, Allie Volpe, April 1 2016
““It Hurts Until It Doesn’t” is essentially kind of a battle — the internal struggle between ego and self doubt, which is something that I find myself thinking about a lot. It’s a problem that a lot of creative people struggle with, and there’s very rarely like a good balance between them. It’s either that you have a huge ego or crippling self-doubt and there’s little happy medium between the two. This song is kind of about letting go of something that’s toxic in yourself — like a relationship — rising above it and being stronger in order to not need that thing anymore. The song talks a lot about self-doubt, about not being sure of your place in the universe and questioning how much you can deal with the person that you are. That’s what I mean by the last line, when I say: “I don’t like myself when I’m awake.”” — Kristine Leschper

i felt alive for a little while
but when i died
i had the time to notice
i was crushed by the weight of my own ego
but never honest enough to say it
i felt your love for a little while
but never had the guts
to give myself up
i said that i could be just what you wanted
as if i could ever keep a promise
you have eyes in every room
but you won't see me walk away
once i was
more than just a song to play
on your haunted tape
i don't want to be away
could have sworn
i heard you laughing in the doorway
i don't like myself when i'm awake
i don't like myself
when i'm awake

Adam D, youre my everything
Throw those arms on me
Take your time, please
Adam D whispers quietly
In my ears, hell sing
In my ears, hell ring
[Verse 1]
Well put our phones away
God almighty, what a perfect day
I dont mind if its supposed to rain
Im just glad I get to see your face
[Chorus]
Adam Driver, Adam Driver
Adam Driver, Adam Driver

Adam D, youre my everything
Throw those arms on me
Take your time, please

Well get a house upstate
Bring my friends up for the holidays
I dont care about how long they stay
Im just glad that we found our place

![Easy Life - Basics (Lyrics)
“‘Basics’ is a hopeful dream of things getting better and distant people coming together. Sometimes when things in my life are going really well, I look desperately for reasons to upset the equilibrium and have some kind of challenge to overcome. That’s fucked up right? I think this song picks up on that, the “we’re good” lyric that repeats is a constant reminder to myself that life is good, people are wholesome and that love can endure the most toxic of arguments. Sonically, it was always really important for this track to sound like the music you might hear from inside a spaceship cockpit. All the sounds are soft and other worldly as we wanted to create a safe environment to speak on such matters and outer space felt like a pretty good place to come clean about how I was feeling at the time.” - Murray (lead singer of Easy Life) [Taken from Gigwise, 25 March 2019]

Yeah
Lets go back to basics
Tilt your head towards the sky
See the spaceships
Long before we were stressing over payslips
Mums were getting facelifts
We were in and out of phases
Through our childhood, shame to waste it
We used to live adjacent
Party in the basement
Used to chill with me and Frank
But now you live with Jason
Whats he saying?
Just send him my regards
I really hope youre not too far
As long as Ive got marshmallow clouds above me
No one in this world ever understood me
We need the universe to be as it should be
As long as Ive got marshmallow clouds above me
No-one in this world ever understood me
You dont have to feel it now, just trust me
Yeah were good

Yeah we could
So many arguments over nothing
Ive stopped counting
We made movements so massive
We moved mountains
She was disco, she was bebop
She was soul
She was new-wave
Make a young man feel old
My etiquette and my big dreams
And my attitude, problem
My loose ends and my mistakes
I thought she could solve them
I was spaced out and I was face down
Uncontrolled
She was red hot
Made my pale skin feel cold
Say you feel a little blue sometimes
Finding it hard to get up
For a job that you hate
Got your boss on your case
Cant relate
Swear theyve not got a clue sometimes
Giving the best parts away
Losing strength by the day
Just hold up, Im a junction away
As long as Ive got marshmallow clouds above me
