The latest update for Mortal Kombat Trilogy HD just gave us our first official look at the fully playable boss characters, and it’s easily one of the most impressive showcases yet. Interloko revealed modernized versions of Goro, Kintaro, Motaro, and Shao Kahn with insane levels of detail! From skin textures and armor to facial features, the models look as authentic as ever! Nothing is finalized as of yet completely, but seeing just how far this project has come visually, even if some colors are still placeholders, is surreal. At the same time, there’s a major development shift behind the scenes, as Interloko is now continuing the project solo after splitting from the other developer, meaning we’re essentially getting two separate visions of a Trilogy remake moving forward. Despite that, the game is still very much alive, with online functionality already working in early builds and a potential release target still aiming for later this year. Bottom line: the project isn’t canceled, it’s evolving, and if this boss reveal is anything to go by, the hype is absolutely justified.
