As you may or may not know, there will be a new Mortal Kombat game in 2015 as well as a new film, sure there are a lot of rumors, the game will be a prequel to the film? Or sequel? The film will actually be a revamped script from the original script of the third film that was never made? There's a lot of rumors, let's get down to my thoughts...yes, this is a blog, but whatever, maybe you'll like it?
The last MK game did really well, the fact that WB gave Netherrealm studios a blank cheque to make the game, so there is a lot of anticipation for this game. Its original release was for 2014, but for some unknown reason it was pushed back at the beginning of last year.
It's believed there will be a short 30 second teaser trailer for the first reveal at E3 this year, however as it sits right now, MK 2015 will only be for the XBOX ONE & PS4. (as of right now) It is believed that Kratos will return for the Sony version and Freddy Kruger for the Microsoft version. It's also rumored to be FULL Animalities will be in the game. (full meaning each character will have one) They also said X-Ray would return, that too is pretty cool.
Now a little bit of my own thoughts...
I would love to see MK chess come back into the game, as a sub-game, just like we saw on Deception, as well bring back their version of Tetrus, that too was really cool and different. I would really love to see Hara-Kiris return, I think it was an amazing idea, made the game quite unique.
To me I'd love to see Open World Sandbox story this time, you select your Kharacter and progress, learn moves and advance that way, this too is something similar to something we have seen before, but I'd like to see it done like Skyrim if you know what I mean?
It is rumored that the roster will have a total of 30 kharacters after all DLC and what have you, one source I read thinks that the next game will be like Armageddon in the sense that they'll put EVERYONE in, maybe all in, but not all playable?
I'd personally like a re-telling of Armageddon, it was my favourite roster and I liked the idea, I hated the introduction of two random guys, but the concept behind the opening sequence where they are all fighting for power is awesome.
One other source I have heard from says that they can confirm at least one kharacter put into the game, likely as a DLC. Now obviously, I cannot confirm this, hell, the game won't be out for at least 12 more months, likely not coming out until June/July of 2015, the rumored character is said to be: Belokk.
Now the following is who I'd have as my roster: (again, I picked 30 because that's the rumor on how many will be in the game)
