Takeda is back. I mained him in Mortal Kombat X. However, he plays and looks completely different. I had so much trouble using Triangle + Circle attacks, that I shouted insults at the screen... I never had that much trouble with two-button-inputs, is it me or is it the game?
His moveset is quite complex, and he can do most Special Moves in mid-air and on the ground. He has several attacks which seem very good against projectile spammers, like teleportation or full-screen jumps.
D, F Square (also possible in mid-air) shoots an instantly exploding projectile to the ground, and the direction can be altered by pressing directions. D, B Square is the same, except the projectile doesn't explode until it's hit with an exploding projectile. You can force the opponent into arial combat with those traps. Swift Stride (B, F X) and Tornado Kick (D, B Circle) only hits at the end of the animation. Means e.g. if the high range version is done against a close opponent, you can easily be punished. Rushing Nimbus (the Spiderman web swing) can be cancelled into a jump. Whip Art is a combo, where you cancel D, F Circle attacks into one another up to 2 times. The first attack and the last attack can be enhanced. Takeda also has a unique Fatal Blow that does nothing, which can be cancelled. Takeda throws shurikens when you press the attack buttons, and the final hit, if not blocked or dodged, triggers the Fatal Blow animation. However, I noticed that when you wait for some time and then throw a single projectile, it also triggers the Fatal Blow.
