In this interview, former members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Randy and Breck Fackrell, share their personal testimonies and explain why they chose to leave Mormonism and embrace biblical Christianity. Throughout this respectful conversation, they discuss their experiences within the LDS Church, the questions and concerns that led them to reexamine its teachings, and how they ultimately came to faith as born-again Christians.
Ex Mormons Randy and Breck address a wide range of important topics, including the teachings and history of Joseph Smith, the authority claims of the Melchizedek Priesthood, the doctrine of the Great Apostasy, exaltation, the belief that God was once a man and that men can become gods, the concept of three heavenly kingdoms, outer darkness and eternal judgment, the Restoration of the original church, and the differences between the Book of Mormon and the Bible. They also discuss key theological questions such as salvation by faith alone versus faith combined with works, and what the Bible teaches about the gospel in its proper context.
This interview was conducted in a respectful and thoughtful manner, with the hope that family members, friends, current Latter-day Saints, and former members alike will carefully consider the issues discussed and examine these subjects for themselves. The goal is not to attack individuals, but to encourage honest investigation into the teachings and doctrines of the LDS Church compared with the teachings of Scripture.
