In the spring of 2026, BNSF Railway began clearing out Interbay Yard in Seattle, Washington for planned demolition of the roundhouse and shop buildings. 22 old locomotives, built in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, were sold to Pacific Steel & Recycling and moved in two batches to Centralia, WA for scrap. On June 30th, 2026, I filmed the second movement of these locomotives. Included on this second scrap train were some very rare and historic locomotives. In this video, we'll follow this train from Seattle to Centralia, Washington and talk about some of the locomotives that were part of this train.
