모란봉악단 - 중국노래
1. Battle song of the Chinese People’s Volunteers Army (중국인민지원군전가)
Text & Music: Zhōu Wēizhì (周巍峙)
2. Theme from Mao Anying (마오안잉 주제가)
Text & Music: Liú Wèiguāng (刘为光)
Recorded: 2012.07.28 Mokran Video DPRK
During the Korean war China sent its People's Volunteers Army to help against the US troops. One among the killed soldiers was Mao Anying, the son of Mao Zedong. These songs may be interpreted as the Moranbong Band saying thank you for the Chinese efforts. They sing both songs in Chinese and Korean.
The second song is the theme from a Chinese TV-series from 2010 on the life of Mao Anying that was aired both in China and the DPRK.
Recently there have been discussions in the US on giving the DPRK a "bloody nose" by "surgical attacks" apparently not taking notice of the mutual friendship treaty between the DPRK and China from 1961. The treaty was actualized in Chinese media in aug 2017.
At the end of the video I have added a photo as a reminder of this treaty. The photo was taken Sept 4, 2017 in Dandong, China. The monument shows the People's Volunteers Army just at the moment when they are about to enter the old bridge over the Amnok (Yalu) river. The text in front of the commander reads "For Peace". The bridge was destroyed by US bombs and only the half on the Chinese side still stands as a reminder of the assistance China gave to the DPRK.
