dazzathecameraman | Moon Rotation in the Daytime Sky @dazzathecameraman | Uploaded October 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
The Moon appears to "rotate" as we follow it across the sky. This is called "Field Rotation" as we rotate our viewing direction and perspective to follow the Moon across the sky. But there is a key point that some people are forgetting - that the illuminated part of the Moon always faces the Sun. How could the Moon be "cartwheeling" and pointing in the wrong direction when it is the Sun which illuminates it?
