This is the trailer for our award-winning movie, MONSOON LOVER.
SYNOPSIS: Four Americans become entangled in a web of jealousy and betrayal in nearly lawless Cambodia. Retreating to Cambodia after a failed relationship, American Thomas McIntrye becomes immersed in Cambodia's dangerous and pervasive sex trade. There he falls in love with a woman who helps him to regain his dignity, but when an old friend betrays him, Thomas must face his enemies to save himself and the woman he loves.
This was Marlin Darrah's first feature-length dramatic movie. He has made two other feature films and about 100 documentary and travel programs in more than 120 countries over the last 40 years.
The movie has over 100 scenes that were shot in Cambodia over a 35-day shooting schedule. On average, 4 scenes per day. It was shot on Kodak film stock. One of the dominant themes in the movie is the topic of human-trafficking SE Asia.. Though a chilling topic, our hope is that by bringing the problem of child prostitution to a larger, world-wide audience, we can be a part of the solution. A percentage of revenue from the feature film will be donated to E.C.P.A.T. - a non-governmental organization (NGO) devoted to ending child prostitution in SE Asia.
