Energized and pumped at the beginning of a new week, Ryan zips around the workshop setting up Troy and Sheree with bonsai tools with a coffee in hand. Reflecting on deadwood creation, Ryan shows us a tool that did not survive the scope of work it was intended for. While the sounds of wire clipping and busy bonsai work fill the workshop, upstairs, team members JP, Diana, and Josh dive into the intriguing science of copper and copper wire.

With a pep in his step, Ryan Neil is ready to get into some bonsai work this week. Having a large facility with ongoing construction in the greenhouse and also being an educator, Ryan can often be pulled away from tree work. After some heavy deadwood tree of an impressive pine that has been developed over time on Mirai Live, Ryan tends to the sap leakage with sphagnum moss and cut paste. In the Mirai office, JP and Diana look into the origins of copper after noting how quickly Mirai’s annealed wire is selling. Creative director Josh behind the camera and visual director Diana give us a short lesson in the wondrous science of copper and where it can be sourced.
