Jazz singer Molly Johnson released her new album 'Because of Billie' earlier this month, a tribute to Billie Holiday. "For years, people have said to me, 'You are so much like Billie Holiday'. My response has been 'No, I am because of Billie.' Her generation sacrificed for my privilege and I am honor-bound to them." As a result, the Canadian singer will donate a portion of album sales to programs for underprivileged youth and families, and is creating the Billie Holiday Foundation. Full of life and enthusiasm, she's been treating her audience for years with a great repertoire of mostly jazzy but sometimes pop songs. Here, accompanied by Mike Downes (double bass) and Robi Botos (piano) she interprets us 'Summertime', taken from her album 'Another Day', a reinvention of the original title by Billie Holiday, in a version full of complicity: she plays with the music and the jazzy groove with off-putting simplicity.

Created in 2011, the French electronic band PANZER FLOWER becomes famous in 2014 with its single ‘We Are Beautiful’. With already more than 3 million views online, the trio formed in Montpellier is a huge success. Called ‘Best Rising Stars’ by the French music magazine Rock and Folk, their music video was largely broadcasted on TV & radios in France and the song appears in the Top 15 of the sales.They owe the success of their song to a subtle mix of Californian singer-ex-leader of the band Tower Power Hubert Tubbs vocals and electro pop sounds. We met them in the 15th arrondissement town hall where they offered us a powerful and emotional version of their hit WE ARE BEAUTIFUL where Mike Louvila’s voice combines perfectly with Panzer Flower’s guitars and xylophone. Claire de Belloy began to sing and to play on the French and American stages at the age of 11, with the company Fredonia. She first studied at the ECM in Paris (School of Performing Arts) before leaving to England where she was admitted in the Guildford School of Acting. She was often cast for black women parts of Black Woman as in Sister Act where she played Dolorès, directed by Guillaume Bouchède. She wrote Heres Song Cycle To Life with Christian Lunn, sponsored by Caffé Nero, that will be performed at the Cornbury Music Festival in the UK.. It is only the beginning of a great adventure for her and for this duo of young composers.

Australian singer Josef Salvats fame pretty much came out of nowhere, when his cover of Rihannas hit Diamonds got viral thanks to internet. His tortured voice, completed with a slow melancholic instrumental background widening the painful wound, perfectly catches the spirit of the song and revisited it with great talent and simplicity. Not so long ago, Josef was still a law student in Sydney, and now his song is featured in the new Sony commercial, playing everywhere. Accompanied by a piano, he offered us a very nice acoustic version of his own interpretation of a song written in 14 minutes by Sia Furler, with a music composed by Benjamin Levine, and first interpreted by Rihanna… Complicated you said?
La renommée du chanteur Australien Josef Salvat sest construite subitement autour de son interprétation du titre Diamonds de Rihanna, dont lenregistrement est devenu viral sur le web en peu de temps. Tove Styrke is a 22-year-old Swedish singer, who started her career very young with her well-noticed participation in the TV Show ‘Swedish Idol’ when she was 18. Following the show, she signed with Sony Music and released a debut album which went quickly platinum!
With an early success, the scandinavian artist has yet gained maturity with her EP ‘Borderline’, released in 2014, and even more with her second album named ‘Kiddo‘, which will be released very soon.
