God it's good. Short, sweet, and to the point. No midboss, just get straight to the finale. Honestly, my little guilty pleasure is the sound of the trumpet at 0:57 where it ends after that long dramatic note - I have no idea what that's called, but I zone in on it every time.
The stage background is also just so memorable - the deep red sunset that fades into the incredible view over Lake Suwa at night. It's just so cool.

This theme reminds me that the electric guitar sound wasnt always terrible .-. I joke, I joke...
I guess ZUN tried to make this theme tense, but also wrestled with it needing to sound tame as its only the first boss? The instruments sound like theyre trying to fight over being threatening and fun at the same time. Maybe to represent the power of mice, since ZUN seems to have poor childhood memories
