We used t-slot aluminum extrusions to make a modular rolling 3D printer cart! Well, and CNC cart! We’ll just call it our digital fabrication cart :)

This rolling 3D printer and CNC cart is soooo much better than our old set up. We love that it’s made from t-slot aluminum extrusions because we will inevitable grow our collection and this makes it a flexible / modular cart that we can add onto. In addition we do plan on turning this into an enclosure and adding additional organization for materials like filament and resin. It’s really sturdy and easily held the weight of two of us rolling around on it, which makes us feel good about it housing our machines. Plus it’s handy that we can roll it around if we need to move it. Using Vention was really handy because we could design our piece in their free CAD software and order exactly what we needed for our exact design. Of course, we ended up realizing a few extra brackets we needed as we went and 3D printed some custom ones that locked into the aluminum extrusions. We also added our own touch to the cart in the form of wood shelves. We split the two wider shelves into two parts to maintain the modularity (if we need to make one side taller, we don’t have to cut our shelf in half). Overall, we think this is going to be a great system for 3d printer storage and cnc storage!
