Moderskeppet is back again in 2025, but this time in a special edition. Moderskeppet Gaming is a new geek cruise in between Moderskeppet 3 and Moderskeppet 4. Get ready for the nerdiest cruise of the Baltic Sea!

Moderskeppet used to be an annual event arranged by geeks.se, but as of 2025 they've expanded to two boats per year. Moderskeppet Gaming is more focused on purely...well...gaming. Obviously. But there's still plenty of what you can find at the regular Moderskeppet too.
More than a 1000 geeks and nerds embarked on the boat Birka Gotland in May to enjoy some quality geek time on international waters. Or at least on Finnish waters. On board the ship you could find dancefloors and restaurants, bars and board gaming rooms, a huge expo where companies like Webhallen and many more could show off their newest products, and of course a lot more.
There's quizes and events, concerts and tournaments - and there's simply too much happening on board to manage to see it all. But I made an attempt at least as I examined what Moderskeppet Gaming had to offer - and I interviewed a lot of people about their thoughts as well. And I might have to give a fair warning: neither me nor the interviewees might have been completey sober at any point.
Music is an important part of any Moderskeppet and on this cruise you could see Songs From Our Savefiles, Algar, Gustaf Grefberg and Wiklund. And of course, Syntax Error who were DJing to ensure that quality chiptunes were delivered on floors 5 and 10, as well as in the nightclub.
