It’s sometimes challenging and fun to use a machine in a way it isn't necessarily common to use. I got myself a model:cycles recently and tried to push it into ambient territory. By using a little helper app on the ipad called #polythemus it’s basically possible to use all six tracks on the cycles at the same time by allocating the voices per channel, so it’s actually possible to play the cycles like a six-voice fm synth. Here i'm actually only using 4 tone tracks, sequenced by #riffer going into #chordjam. Additional fx by routing the incoming audio through #velvetmachine for a smooooooth envelope as well as #rymdigare for a bit of extra space sprinkles.
