This is a tool-assisted speedrun (TAS). This time will not count on any real rankings. Done on Dolphin 5.0 with RAM Watch (Info Display), slowdown, TAS code, frame advance and savestates.

Akari worked on everything up until the ramp, TASPlasma also helped with the section before the ramp until the ramp landing, and I (Ejay) did the rest of the run. The time save in this run comes from the single trick and the ending strat.
This run is pretty optimised, but I realise that I did the wheelie cut wrong and lost some time

My first no-glitch tops! Not a bad run, the missed mini turbo on lap 2 cost a better 3rd, but Im still happy since I grinded for a sub 2:20 for so long. I have one last strat to implement that the Aussie record does and along with the u-turn skip, I might be able to get my third Aussie record.

I think that going down the hill and missing the boost panel might slightly be faster than doing a moonjump. I used all my shrooms in lap 1 because of inevitable death after the cannon exit. I actually found a way to skip all the OOB and land back on the track after the cannon, however it doesnt count the lap - as the closest key checkpoint is where the nearby blue zipper is.

I see that this video is getting a substantial amount of attention. For anyone wondering, this was made using a 300cc cheat code (speed mod) which increases my overall vehicle speed in the race. The run was made on Dolphin Emulator and is a TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun), therefore it wont count on any real rankings. The definition for a TAS is as follows:
A tool-assisted speedrun or tool-assisted superplay (TAS) is a set sequence of controller inputs used to perform a task in a video game. The input sequence is usually created by emulating the game and using tools such as slow motion, frame-by-frame advance, memory watch, and save states to create an extremely precise series of inputs. The idea is not to make gameplay easier for players, but rather to produce a demonstration of gameplay that would be practically impossible for a human player. Tool-assisted speedruns often feature gameplay that would otherwise be impossible or prohibitively difficult to perform in real time. Producers of tool-assisted speedruns do not compete with unassisted speedrunners of video games; on the contrary, collaborative efforts between the two groups often take place.

I cant believe it. Almost 15 years after the games release...
For many years now, weve known that a slower ultra shortcut would be possible on Moo Moo Meadows - provided that a way to reach the out-of-bounds seam in the middle of the course was found. Many methods were attempted with different vehicles, but to no avail. Some came frustratingly close. However, the revolutionary power of the outside-drifting bike proved useful once more.
So, how does it work? Firstly you need to reach the top of the banner, which has temporary wall-disabling properties. This is the only way to get out-of-bounds due to how tall the invisible walls on this track are.
Walls in this game only have collision on one side. This normally means that a wallclip attempt from the outside of the fence would just pop you back inside the course and not work. But for some reason, a small section of the fence right next to the finish line is miraculously two one-sided walls placed back-to-back, which means a wallclip is possible!
The outside-drifting bikes perpendicular wallclipping abilities unlocked a way to reach the seam, and its capability to perform out-of-bounds bounces with very little vertical speed provided a way to rapidly slow down and come to a stop despite travelling almost perpendicularly to the seam after the big clip.
This flap was slower than driving around normally until I discovered two brand new strategies: the shroomless clip up to the banner, which allows you to be in a shroom boost until the turnaround; and also the weird drift strategy to curve left underneath the solid out-of-bounds - barely hitting the required checkpoint. Prior to this, you needed drive forwards until the seam corner and turn 90° in order to hit it, which wasted heaps of time. See a map of that route here: https://tinyurl.com/MMMoobplane
For those who dont know, the track is surrounded by solid out-of-bounds collision (except for the middle of the course, which has no collision), and its possible to not respawn if you drive on the very edge of the collision plane.
This lap could be improved further using faster strats and also driving an entire lap hugging the fence whilst out-of-bounds, so that you start the lap already outside the fence, but for the sake of the video I chose not to do this.
