I can't believe it. Almost 15 years after the game's release...

For many years now, we've known that a slower ultra shortcut would be possible on Moo Moo Meadows - provided that a way to reach the out-of-bounds seam in the middle of the course was found. Many methods were attempted with different vehicles, but to no avail. Some came frustratingly close. However, the revolutionary power of the outside-drifting bike proved useful once more.

So, how does it work? Firstly you need to reach the top of the banner, which has temporary wall-disabling properties. This is the only way to get out-of-bounds due to how tall the invisible walls on this track are.

Walls in this game only have collision on one side. This normally means that a wallclip attempt from the outside of the fence would just pop you back inside the course and not work. But for some reason, a small section of the fence right next to the finish line is miraculously two one-sided walls placed back-to-back, which means a wallclip is possible!

The outside-drifting bike's perpendicular wallclipping abilities unlocked a way to reach the seam, and its capability to perform out-of-bounds bounces with very little vertical speed provided a way to rapidly slow down and come to a stop despite travelling almost perpendicularly to the seam after the big clip.

This flap was slower than driving around normally until I discovered two brand new strategies: the shroomless clip up to the banner, which allows you to be in a shroom boost until the turnaround; and also the weird drift strategy to curve left underneath the solid out-of-bounds - barely hitting the required checkpoint. Prior to this, you needed drive forwards until the seam corner and turn 90° in order to hit it, which wasted heaps of time. See a map of that route here: tinyurl.com/MMMoobplane

For those who don't know, the track is surrounded by solid out-of-bounds collision (except for the middle of the course, which has no collision), and it's possible to not respawn if you drive on the very edge of the collision plane.

This lap could be improved further using faster strats and also driving an entire lap hugging the fence whilst out-of-bounds, so that you start the lap already outside the fence, but for the sake of the video I chose not to do this.
