My second collaboration with Rageman, who created the awesome sprites used here. My first collaboration with him, Quan Chi's Grave, has yet to be released however, so expect that in the future.
Rageman also wrote some extremely intricate lore for the hooded statue
on the far righthand side. In his own words:
"It's called an 'Altar of Redemption'.
The Altars of Redemption are scattered all over the Netherrealm, built by sorcerers to help the Elder Gods identify those who have been sent to hell unrightfully.
One must kneel down before the statue and pray to it, and they will contact with the Elder Gods, who will grant the damned one a second judgement. If the Elder Gods realize they have sent one to the Netherrealm undeservedly, they will guide him to the pathway out of that realm, but if one had deserved to be condemned, and was trying to escape Hell by praying to the altar, the Elder Gods will heighten their punishment by sending them to a lower plain."
