My third collaboration with Rageman! This stage is set in a Satanic temple presided over by Rageman's original character Asmodha (who can be seen at the altar in the center of the stage).
Here's Rageman's own description of her story/lore:
"Asmodha was Lucifer's prophet, commander of his cult and the Netherrealm's sorceress prior to Shinnok overtaking the realm and Quan Chi taking that role. She was responsible for leading Lucifer's cult and using her hypnotic sorcery to bring living beings into worshipping the Devil."
For those who may not remember, Lucifer (the biblical Satan) is indeed a small, minor character that is canonical to MK's lore (mentioned briefly in MK Mythologies), where he was the ruler of Hell/The Netherrealm prior to Shinnok being banished there by the Elder Gods and taking the realm over from him.
So in essence, what Quan Chi is to Shinnok and what Shang Tsung is to Shao Kahn, Asmodha is to Lucifer.
Lastly, you'll note that the zip file for this stage contains two different versions of it: one with priests in the foreground, and one without. Rageman wanted people who didn't like foreground effects to have an alternate choice in the matter.
