Decided to try to step it up here and go with Poltergust 4000. The clip at the start with the tree becomes harder, but the rest of the run is pleasant to drive without all the double hopping egg1 adds.
Will try to keep going for sub.

This was played on an original DS console, but then the ghost was transfered to an emulator for recording purposes, allowing me to record in HD quality, and using custom audio for copyright purposes.

This is going to be a long description, since this WR is one of the achievements Ive been looking for a while:
I have been trying to get sub 44.5 on this track since 2017, when I started doing ROB-BLS attempts on this track. The closest I got was in 2018, when I got a 44.515, getting so close to my final goal. After that, Ive played this track from time to time, sometimes getting close, and sometimes not even being able to complete any run. After almost 2 years and a half since I got my 44.515, I have been finally able to get a 44.454!
And why is this goal so important to me? The first reason is that this track has one of the hardest strats in the whole game to pull off, and its very satisfactory to have a good time with it. For the second reason, I need to explain what God standards are:
Mario Kart Players Page is the biggest Mario Kart community, combining every single Mario Kart game, where players post their times, and have their own leaderboards. Talking about MKDS specifically, almost every player is there, you can watch all the times a player has.
The community itself created some standards years ago, as shown on this link https://www.mariokart64.com/mkds/standardsp.php
These standards tries to measure how good a time is on a certain track, God being the highest standard you can get, then Myth, Titan, Hero, etc. After some years, the discovery of new strats and people getting better at the game have made easier to get better standards on some tracks that others, however, after all these years, there were still 2 GOD standards that nobody had ever achieved and are considered so hard to get, these are:
- Choco Island 2 sub 44.500
- Yoshi Falls (fast lap) sub 15.000
By achieving this time, Im only one God standard away to get God standards in every single track. Sub 15.000 is super hard to achieve, I currently have 15.034 there but its hard to cut down on such a short lap. I dont think Ill go for it for now, since it would require such a big grinding Im not really prepare, but one day, Ill probably go for it.
As for my future in MKDS.. I dont know how itll be. I wont be very active since its really time consuming and Im more motivated to do other stuff, but Ill probably come back from time to time to play the game for a bit. Im glad to see that the community is growing lately and there are a lot of people that are getting really good at the game.

Holidays coming, and I decided to come back to my favourite track, but play with some random karts. The idea is to play karts that can do all the shortcuts.
Brute is actually hard to play, so I went for easier strats on lap 2 and 3. Shroomless pipe SC is actually harder too cause it takes a while for the kart to accel back to be able to mt, so I was turning around later for safety.
Happy with the run, I guess 1:41 should be possible with this kart but I dont want to spend ages grinding this.
Ill try to do more, so you can suggest which kart I should use next!

The improvement is just based on a new path to Hall of fame that I discovered 4 years ago, that reduces the time you have to be in the Void.

First ever prb flap WR on this track! Taigas time is still the Non-PRB WR.
New strat, this PRB set up makes PRB harder, the first mt has to be super fast, and then the kart takes a bit of air time and its easy to miss mts. However, I find the set up itself slightly easier to get.
Will try to improve both 3lap and flap using this.

Back on business! Taiga came with a better strat on this track and Ive been practicing the last few days. Also I think my pendulum section strat is faster, and got the faster ending.
This should be slightly improvable in terms of driving but at least I got the whole strat right which is now hard enough!
