This month's theme for the Mixed Media Menagerie was Winter. Parameters included creating a tip-in, using only one color plus black & white, and using Golden's Micaceous Iron Oxide. Erin, Nicole, and I had attended a Golden demo just before Covid started, and we all fell in love with this textured, sparkly medium. Golden has a bunch of products that include mica flakes of different colors and sizes, which I would have never known if Nicole hadn't invited us to the demo!
I decided to use Lapis blue for my one color as it had a wintery feel to me. However, after I got started, I totally forgot about the winter theme. I used a flower stencil by AB studio and realized that it wasn't very wintery. I think with the colors used, and the final addition of the white paint splatters, they now maybe look like Christmas flowers (I hope!).
