This Western electric 29a has 5 levers with false gates and some warding designed to hinder. However I find it to help separate the levers into 2-3 so indexing position was trivial. I have seen 2 different lever packs for 29as one with 5 levers with false gates as expected, and a much easier version with no false gates on levers except lever 1. Lever one in these is sprung and has a false gate. You can tell what lever pack by how the key and fence return to locked position.
