🚙 Drive America's Highways for 5 miles south along MS-315 from Sardis to Oxford, Mississippi 🛣️
This drive along Mississippi Highway 315 begins in the town of Sardis at its junction with U.S. Highway 51. From here, the route heads east, quickly leading into the rolling, wooded landscape characteristic of northern Mississippi. Soon the highlight of the trip comes into view: Sardis Lake. Rather than taking the elevated roadway across the top of the dam, the drive follows the lower path at the base of the massive earthen structure. This alignment provides a unique perspective, allowing travelers to appreciate both the engineering of the dam and the sweeping views of the surrounding water and countryside.
Continuing south and east, the road curves through a mix of forested hills and farmland that define the transition between the Mississippi Delta and the upland terrain of Lafayette County. This section of Highway 315 offers a calm, two-lane drive with light traffic and plenty of natural scenery, making it a pleasant alternative to the busier four-lane routes nearby. As the road nears Oxford, the character of the drive shifts toward a more developed landscape, with small communities and local roads leading toward the university town. The trip concludes at the junction with U.S. Highway 278, just west of Oxford, where connections can be made to the city center and points beyond.
This stretch of Mississippi Highway 315 is more than just a connector between Sardis and Oxford. It highlights a quieter, scenic side of north Mississippi travel—passing through natural beauty, rural charm, and one of the region’s most notable landmarks in Sardis Dam. For anyone heading toward Oxford from the Delta or looking for a peaceful drive with memorable views, this route is a rewarding choice.

![[Repost] Alabama Highway 25: Vincent to Leeds | Drive Americas Highways 🚙
Alabama Highway 25 from Vincent to Leeds covers a scenic and engaging stretch of road that showcases the rolling foothills and small communities southeast of Birmingham. This drive starts at the junction with U.S. Route 231 in Vincent, a modest town that serves as the southern anchor for this winding corridor. From the outset, Highway 25 demonstrates its character as a rural connector, gently weaving through a landscape of hardwood forests, scattered farms, and pockets of residential development. Travelers soon pass through Skerrett, a small dot on the map that hints at the quieter, older side of Shelby County. Beyond Skerrett, the route presses north into Vandiver, where the hills begin to assert themselves more dramatically and the road’s curves become more pronounced.
Past Vandiver, the highway reveals its most memorable feature: a series of tight switchbacks and sharp curves that demand careful driving but reward with glimpses of the surrounding Appalachian foothills. This segment is popular with motorcyclists and local drivers alike, offering a short but satisfying taste of Alabama’s lesser-known backroads. The forest canopy often closes in overhead, giving a tunnel-like feel in some sections, while occasional clearings open up to small homesteads or glimpses of distant ridgelines. Drivers should remain attentive as the winding nature of the road means sudden turns and elevation changes are common until the highway gradually descends toward the Leeds area.
Approaching Leeds, Alabama Highway 25 transforms into Dunnavant Road, signaling the transition from rural curves to the more structured streets of this suburban gateway to Birmingham’s eastern edge. The terrain flattens out, and the surroundings shift to residential neighborhoods and light commercial pockets typical of small-town city limits. The journey concludes at the intersection with U.S. Route 78, a route that provides further access west toward Birmingham or east toward Pell City. Whether driven for its convenience or its curves, this stretch of Highway 25 stands out as a pleasant reminder of Alabama’s mix of foothill charm and small-town accessibility.

![Interstate 44: Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joplin, Missouri | Drive Americas Highways [Repost/Remaster]
Travel 110 miles along Interstate 44 from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Joplin, Missouri, following a key section of the Will Rogers Turnpike. This drive begins in northeast Tulsa at the interchange with Interstate 244, where I-44 heads northeast toward Catoosa. Shortly after leaving the city, the highway crosses the Verdigris River and passes through Claremore, serving as a primary corridor for both regional and long-distance traffic.
From Claremore, I-44 continues northeast through rolling countryside, intersecting major routes such as OK-20, OK-28, and U.S. Highway 69 before reaching the Vinita Service Area. This classic mid-century Route 66 stop, built directly over the turnpike, offers food, fuel, and a unique over-the-road view of traffic below. Past Vinita, the route veers north toward Miami, Oklahoma, and approaches the tri-state area. At the Oklahoma-Missouri line, the tollway ends, and I-44 transitions to a free interstate for the short remaining stretch into Joplin. The drive concludes at the interchange with Interstate 49 northbound, a gateway to Kansas City and the broader Midwest.
This segment of I-44 blends the turnpike’s smooth, high-speed travel with glimpses of small-town Oklahoma and Missouri. Long, open stretches are paired with historic highway connections, making it both an efficient route for through traffic and an interesting drive for those exploring America’s heartland.

🚙 Drive Americas Highways for 32 miles north along Arkansas Highway 123 from Sand Gap to Western Grove.
We start the ride from Sand Gap to Western Grove turning north onto Arkansas Highway 123 from a junction with Arkansas Highway 7 just north of Sand Gap. Driving generally north, we travel about 15 miles through the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest to the junction with Arkansas Highway 74 in Mt. Judea. Now driving north on the conjoined AR-74 and AR-123, we leave Mt. Judea to the north where we pass through the community of Vendor before reaching Piercetown.
At Piercetown, we continue north on AR-123 as AR-74 splits to the west. Entering Hasty a few miles later, the highway turns generally northwest for the remaining 9 miles to Western Grove. At Western Grove, we end the video at the intersection with U.S. Highway 65.

![Interstate 65: Louisville to Elizabethtown, Kentucky | Real Roads, Real Drives [Revisited]
🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 31 miles south along Interstate 65 from I-265 in Louisville to US-62 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky — through rolling hills, farmland, and one of Kentucky’s busiest corridors.
Interstate 65 departs the Louisville metro area at its junction with I-265, quickly transitioning from dense suburban development into a more open and gently rolling landscape typical of central Kentucky. This stretch serves as a major north–south artery, linking Louisville with Nashville and beyond, and carries a steady flow of regional and long-distance traffic. Early in the drive, commercial zones and logistics centers line the corridor, reflecting the interstate’s role in freight movement. As the route continues south, development begins to thin, replaced by patches of woodland, open pasture, and scattered rural homes that hint at the agricultural backbone of the region.
The highway maintains a relatively smooth and modern alignment, with gradual curves and mild elevation changes that follow the natural contours of the terrain. Interchanges along the way provide access to smaller communities and local roads, though much of the drive retains a consistent, uninterrupted rhythm. The surrounding scenery alternates between tree-lined stretches and open fields, offering a balanced mix of shade and wide-open views. Seasonal changes can significantly alter the character of this segment, from lush greens in the warmer months to more subdued tones in late fall and winter.
Approaching Elizabethtown, often referred to locally as E-town, the landscape begins to show signs of increasing development once again. Retail centers, residential growth, and light industry gradually reappear, signaling the approach to one of the region’s key population centers. The US-62 interchange marks a primary gateway into the city, connecting travelers to local routes that lead deeper into Hardin County and toward nearby destinations. Despite its role as a major interstate corridor, this stretch offers a comfortable balance between urban accessibility and the quieter, rural character that defines much of central Kentucky. It’s a stretch where the roadside towns still offer plenty to explore.

![[Repost] California Route 2: West Hollywood to Santa Monica — Los Angeles County Drive
Drive Americas Highways through the heart of Los Angeles along California State Route 2 as it winds from West Hollywood to the edge of the Pacific in Santa Monica. This urban stretch, while relatively short, packs a lot into its roughly 9-mile corridor — offering a vivid cross-section of the Westsides ever-changing streetscapes, culture, and traffic flow. Beginning at La Cienega Boulevard, this portion of Route 2 follows the famed Santa Monica Boulevard westward, threading through some of the most iconic neighborhoods in Southern California.
The journey passes through Beverly Hills — with its manicured medians, upscale retail, and landmark intersections — before continuing into Century City and West Los Angeles. These sections offer a look at the transitional zones of LA’s west side: from high-end shopping and corporate high-rises to more modest commercial strips and residential pockets. As Santa Monica Boulevard nears its end, the route enters the city of Santa Monica proper, a vibrant coastal community known for its walkability, parks, and lively street activity. The route ends at Lincoln Boulevard, just a few blocks inland from the beach, where State Route 2 officially terminates.
While not a traditional freeway or mountain pass like other segments of CA-2, this section is notable for its urban density and historic alignment. It’s one of the few state highways in California that slices through multiple municipalities in such a compact stretch — making it a functional yet fascinating drive for those exploring the Los Angeles basin by car.
