Someone recently commented on the previous video-
"Why aren't there more vert comps?"
This contest might show some insight as to why.
The experience and skill it takes to be at the caliber of riding witnessed here in 2005 is incredible.
It is not quickly attained.
The level of precision, paired with the brutal consequences
of being just a little bit off- it's all on display.
Add on to the fact this was first and foremost, a live TV show.
So the awkward commercial breaks
(along with the rate of people getting KO'd), really put a weird vibe out there on the deck.
Oh, and of course, cheerleaders.
Not a natural, jam session format at all.
And you can see it in the riders faces.
This was a rough day at the office for these guys.
Somehow I found a way up to the press area and captured what you see here on the Panasonic DVX100.
And yesterday I laid it out in continuity (after the title graphic), so you can see the stop and go and whoa of that night at the Staples Center.
