Jeff Hijlkema | MIROIRE meets TALLINN // passacaglia by Jeff Hijlkema // Orchestral Tools demo @jeffhijlkema | Uploaded September 2021 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Just purchased my first Orchestral Tools VST instruments; Miroire and Tallinn. Unique in the field! It really is a completion to my musical arsenal. I love their character and atmosphere. Baroque period instruments and Arvo Part vibe kinda-like-sounding instruments. Both Miroire and Tallinn run smooth in the Orchestral Tools Sine player, which allows good mic tweaking and workflow, I experienced. In this Passacaglia I blend Miroire and Tallinn. At the end of the video there's a Cubase project overview.
Concerning the mix: I render every single midi instrument track as a audio wave file (48.000 hz, 64bit flow). Making subchannels for the instrument groups (auxilaries). In this case putting some FabFilter EQ on the aux inserts and some FabFilter Medium Church send reverb. Also did a little panning in the Sine player itself and in Cubase (stereo panning). I'm not a mastering engineer, but I did put some general EQ, mid-side EQ, little compression and limiting on the stereo bus. All Fabfilter plug-ins.
The video was compiled using footage from the Orchestral Tools website. Montage and editing in Adobe première Pro.
I recommend using some fine speakers or headphones to get a good stereo and spectral experience.
Be well,
