much larger time cut than i was expecting i thought i would get a 4:15 best case. the sequence to get green in time at the end is much more difficult than it looks, i probably spent twice as much time practicing just that 20 second segment as i did on the entirety of my attempts. didnt think it was viable at first & it took me hours to hit it even once
i played this while my computers ability to connect to the internet was broken so i was just steve but i didnt like being steve so i replaced steve with a random png of a kaleidoscope pattern i had on my computer
fun fact; grabbing a wooden pickaxe from the chest & digging upwards is only slightly slower than punching out wood for the bed warp, with the main downside being no hunger reset from dying
fun fact 2; this map would be almost a minute faster if spawn wasnt in spawn chunks, as thatd make it possible to do an instant signal deload on the starting button with a redstone torch
fun fact 3; i found that the intersection 5 tp command block next to the monument tp goes to the same place as the green tp by complete accident when i misplaced a pressure plate

decently solid run to beat the previous wr holder by 6 minutes. this map is very rng intensive, & i take a lot of risks with difficult elytra movement on top of that. even though i ran this in easy, completing a run of this route is probably overall harder than the previous route on hard difficulty
in this run i get essentially perfect rng, & only a handful of minor execution mistakes (namely bonking the monument fountain & excruciatingly slow mineral block crafting). i kind of wish i got this time with it the other way around, since itd look nicer, but yknow
more rng strats can be added, like the looting the random chest for a pick & axe, or killing an early enderman. without being close to any major milestone, & without any threat of competition from ty retiring, i have no motivation to grind this lower

the long awaited day. the fated day. the day lethamyr would be exciting to watch
or a hypothetical version of lethamyr where the out of bounds rule doesnt exist idk
this is not the longest map grind i have ever done, but it was certainly the most miserable. compared to other maps ive done, this was much longer & much more rng intensive. while this run has more mistakes than id normally consider acceptable, the vast majority of the time save still on the table comes from simply getting better blaze drops. this map can be pushed under 18 (maybe 17) minutes, & most of that is just grinding for a better fort split
also inbounds sub 30 in 1.7 is possible & i will do that someday

all of the recent speedrun activity on this map has been on the out of bounds elytra category. i get why, but i felt there was a lot of untapped potential for playing the map legitimately
most of the improvement comes from going to the entrance of grey early, to get a punch bow. the slightly worse travel distance is easily made up for by the increased speed from punch boosting. i also go through more of the dungeons instead of digging to them, which is not only faster, but also gives access to more ender pearls to use elsewhere; & pearl deload more strategically to reduce travel time. there is also a bed warp which is nice
the tradeoff of playing on an older version with punch boosting is having to go much further to deload. punch boosting was mostly patched in 1.11, so i believe the actual optimal version for this map is 1.9 or 1.10, for being able to jump throw pearls (making it viable to deload with 1 pearl by punch boosting away), & also sometimes just deload with 2 chunks in certain conditions for reasons i dont understand
this run is not very good in my opinion. it is probably improvable by about 2 minutes. however my goal was sub 30, & i dont have much interest in continuing beyond that
