Using the bed spawning trick I have made a tileable elevator that can spawn you at any height from bedrock to 255 in a few seconds. Only 1 thing, you have to die to use it...
This uses my shift register so that it only needs 2 wires to control all levels. Pulse length detecters or coded binary pulses could have also been used with just 1 wire, but they would need more space to decode the signals.

Zombie XP farm with a different approach. With over 100 zombies per minute, could be the new way to farm XP in the overworld?
Not the most practical of farms, but it could be still be done without the use of potions. At the moment this is just a concept, as far as I know zombies can only spawn 1 additional zombie. This means you would have to kill off the spawner zombies and transport the new ones to the spawner chamber.
This can also work underground, best to set it up near a zombie spawner to start off the chain reaction.

My redstone computer can now read text files on my actual computer!
Been wanting to do this a long time but my old decoder didnt work, so I made a new one. This is much more stable and reads pulse lengths instead of on/off. Using python in Applescript Im able to read the text file in ASCII, then output clicks to simulate binary that my redstone computer understands.

Just messing around with the new 1.8 fences and how they connect together. Also made a combination lock like the one in Moonraker with the Close Encounters tune to unlock it :)
The lock must have the correct tune as well as tempo to open, giving some added security to it.

[Patched in latests update] This used no mods or command blocks. Found a bug in minecraft where you could duplicate and make infinite TNT with arrows xD
This is not just your normal blow up dirt and stone TNT, it also breaks through obsidian and bedrock. All you need is 4 TNT and a few stacks of arrows and you are good to go. This workes in vanilla survival Minecraft 1.7 & 1.8 snapshots.

Working RAM in Minecraft! Just an update working on my computer, it can now write data to a file as well as read from an address. As usual no command blocks used :)
I still have to manually select which address to read and write to, also this type of data can be corrupted fairly easily because of a redstone bug with serial repeaters. So I may have to find an alternate way of doing it.

Who needs 100s of redstone wires when you can just use 1 :)
Another key component for my word processor, this keyboard sends a serial 8 bit signal down 1 wire where it is decoded into a letter/number/symbol and then displayed on screen.

Just a quick video playing around with sending a serial signal through instant wire.
The fastest bitrate I could manage was 3 ticks per signal. Also had a go using 0 tick pulses, but still could only manage a a pulse every 3 ticks. If anyone knows how to create a faster cycle then 3 ticks let me know :)
