She changes into a handmade dress, shawl and hairflower, and wears a pair of vintage shoes. Isn’t she adorable? She is a vintage 1972 Kenner Blythe doll with cute bobbed hair. Most of her clothes are handmade, en some of it is vintage or second hand. She lives in her DIY closet, and sometimes invites doll friends over for dress up parties!

I am using pattern instructions from 1912 by Marie Thierbach, and adding my own touch with decorations and embroidery in the spirit of arts and crafts. I’m excited to work on this project together with my friend Fanny, who came up with the idea in the first place. I highly encourage you to check out her progress pictures on instagram! It is also an absolute joy reading and learning about the Dress Reform movement and the Artistic and Aesthetic dress, and seeing other people’s concepts and projects with the #ReformDressChallenge hashtag.
