Understanding that "mild autism" or high functioning or Asperger's is very real and valid is important for the well-being of autistic individuals. The spectrum is so diverse and results in some areas of struggle in different degrees, but assuming that certain things seem less difficult for some autistic people doesn't mean that the struggle goes away or that in itself doesn't become an area of difficulty.
