This video was produced when the laboratory operated as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The laboratory is now the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). This aim of the Migration and Energy Systems Futures: JISEA Catalyzer Summer Webinar Series is to inform energy system projection thinking with broader perspectives on how climate adaptation might influence society. Each webinar includes academics, demographers, sector-specific experts, and contributors from historically Black colleges and universities and minority serving institutions. Led by Dr. Clive Katiba Tsuma, the third webinar in the series explores the evolving international legal frameworks designed to address the needs of populations displaced by climate change, including the limitations of existing laws in handling the unique challenges of climate-induced displacement and the opportunities for legal reform and potential pathways to ensure the rights and dignities of those displaced by environmental changes are upheld.
