Days and Words | Midsommar Trailer Reaction - Swedish speaker discusses trailer @daysandwords | Uploaded July 2019 | Updated October 2024, 14 hours ago.
Swedish speaker The Reykjavik Review discusses the new A24 movie Midsommar, but in trailer form.
To an outsider, the Midsommar festival can seem to be a bizarre Swedish pagan ritual, but it is actually good fun. It is probably my personal nightmare to attend one as it starts descending into disembowelling animals, making people levitate and taking enough weird substances to make my Swedish language start sounding good.
What's interesting about the trailer for Midsummer is that it looks as though some parts of the movie will be in Swedish, and maybe (and I'm hoping) there will actually be some language games happening, that is, when the film tells Swedish speakers something that English speakers will miss... I love it when Swedish movies do that, and the idea of a Swedish horror movie doing it sounds awesome, if not a bit too scary.
Please note that this is a trailer response video. I have used an A24 trailer in order to discuss and review it, not to copy it.
