Voice leading is how notes move from one chord to the next in a smooth as possible way. We do that with inversions and different voicing of a chord and is essential for writing music, improvising and understanding harmony.
Mick Goodrick was a legendary educator and Jazz guitarist that wrote all kinds of interesting books, one of them being the Voice Leading Almanacs that is a comprehensive and absolute remarkable view on voice leading. In this guitar lesson I try to explain wat this almanac is all about and show you ways to practice voice leading in the most efficient way thinkable.

With examples and Tabs. String muting is a technique that most guitarist have used at least once or twice. It’s a technique where you mute the string by either the left hand or the right hand. A very famous riff of a very famous song is the verse from Chic – Le Freak. It uses a combination of left and right hand techniques.
