The past months, we reached out to over a 100 global fashion brands, asking them to make commitments to protecting lambs.
Why? Because 10+ million lambs suffer for wool each year. They endure a brutal mutilation where strips of skin and flesh are sliced off lambs’ bottoms— without proper pain relief. ❌
This is live lamb cutting (#mulesing), and over half of the world’s clothing wool begins with this cruelty. ✂️
We asked Michael Kors if they:
⭕have a clear policy against live lamb cutting (LLC).
⭕️label certified LLC-free wool on products.
⭕commit to excluding live-cut wool.
And Michael Kors said NOTHING, despite repeated outreach. 💤

Loud noises, bright flashes of light, sparklers, rockets... 🎆🧨 Imagine hearing and seeing all this sudden agitation without knowing where it comes from. You’d surely be frightened!
This is exactly what happens to our pets during festivities, and there are ways to prevent stressful situations from happening, so that everyone in the family gets to enjoy New Year’s Eve. ✨
💡 Some tips: try to go on your daily walk in the calm of the afternoon, make sure all pets are inside before fireworks start, and be the calming presence they need if they start showing distress. Playing calming music, using pheromones for your feline friends and even working on desensitising dogs to loud noises can work as preventive measures.

You all have been following the story of tiger Tajmir – rescued from dire keeping conditions in Czechia, to a temporary care in a zoo, to a road trip across Europe in a Big Cat Ambulance… to finally settle in in his forever home: FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary. ✨🫶🐯
We can finally put a end to the unfortunate tale that Tajmir’s life was before seeing his fate take a turn, and start writing a new one: beginning with his arrival in his lifelong home! The tiger adapted exceptionally well to his new surroundings, curiously taking in all the new smells and sounds from his new big cat neighbours. 🌳🦁
Many challenges could have jeopardised this large-scale, cross-border big cat rescue mission, but your support helped us offer this tiger in need of help, the life he truly deserves. 🥇
Whilst we are delighted to see the tiger finally show natural behaviours in his new environment, Tajmir needs extra care and monitoring due to his age. FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary, with its cutting-edge medical facilities and expert caretakers, is THE perfect place for an older tiger like Tajmir to enjoy life peacefully. 👩⚕️
Tajmir was one of the rare victims of the ruthless trade lucky enough to get his story rewritten, all of this thanks to the collaboration between the authorities and dedicated animal welfare specialists… but YOUR job as an animal welfare supporter is to help cases like Tajmir get seen. 📲

The horrible smell is overpowering; puppies crammed in a crate with NO bedding. One poor pup has a visible hernia. This was all witnessed by undercover investigators. 🔍
The rest of the visit was conducted in a small hallway area due to the lack of space. 🛋️ Overall, the conditions seemed poor, cramped and chaotic.
The seller showed them one male and two female puppies available to buy.
On social media, all you see are adorable faces. But this is the heartbreaking reality.
Unethical breeding practices, poor living conditions.

Lions Nikola and Vasylyna have moved to their larger enclosure!
Lions Nikola and Vasylyna have called LIONSROCK their forever home since April 2024. ⛰️
Recently, our dedicated animal welfare team decided that the young lions were ready to move from their Special Care Unit (SCU) to a larger species-appropriate environment that spans 1 hectare. 🌳
The coordinated effort took careful planning to ensure both Nikola and Vasylyna could be relocated safely within sanctuary grounds. 🐾
Once transported to their new enclosure, Nikola and Vasylyna took a moment to explore their new surroundings but quickly sought out each other to share a loving nuzzle. ❤️
The couple’s bond is sure to strengthen as they continue to thrive at LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary. 🦁🦁

For years, bear Jeta endured heartbreaking conditions—dragged across Albania’s beaches and towns in the scorching summer heat, a chain through her nose, forced to pose for selfies with tourists. 💔
But in 2016, everything changed.
Together with Albanian authorities and our dedicated veterinary team, we rescued Jeta from her life of suffering.
And look at her now! 🐻
Since arriving at BEAR SANCTUARY Belitsa, Jeta has truly blossomed. She quickly adapted to her peaceful new home and even hibernated during her very first winter.
Jeta now prepares her den all by herself, in her own unique way. 💤🐾
We can’t wait to see the cozy space she creates for this coming winter!

Today we’re taking you behind the scenes at our TIERART Wild Animal Sanctuary (@tierart.wildtierstation), where preparations for our future resident are already in full swing: lion Erion! 🛠️🪛🧹
He shares the same sad fate as bear Flora. Both Erion and Flora are currently being kept in unsuitable private captivity in Albania.
I would rather write: Erions small enclosure does not offer the opportunities a lion needs to express his natural behavior — but thankfully, that’s about to change. While Flora will soon enjoy a forest enclosure at our BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz, Erion’s journey will take him to TIERART.
For weeks now, our dedicated on-site team has been working hard to prepare a spacious outdoor enclosure, a cosy indoor retreat, and plenty of enrichment — both big and small — to keep Erion active and happy.
We can’t wait to see Erion settle in, explore his new surroundings, and finally receive the care he deserves. 💛
