Michael Jackson went on a two week venture of Africa and traveled over thirty thousand miles of the continent.
He visited Gabon, The Ivory Coast, Tanzania, Kenya & Libreville where he attended hospitals, schools, churches, orphanages and schools. In Gabon he was welcomed by people holding signs that read "Welcome Home Michael," while in Cote d'Ivoire he was crowned a Prince of the Anyi people. "It's Africa, it’s the 'dawn of civilization'. It's the first place where society existed... there is a connection because it's the root of all rhythm. Everything... It’s home," Michael would later say in an interview with Ebony Magazine in May of 1992.
