Title: Connes' embedding problem and its quantum information theoretic resolution, part 2
Abstract: In his effort to classify von Neumann algebras, Alain Connes asked whether tracial von Neumann algebras are always embeddable in a certain universal one. This became a major open problem in the theory of operator algebras. It was recently resolved by Ji, Natarajan, Vidick, Wright and Yuen using quantum information theoretic techniques. I will survey this development.
