I recorded an early version of this song on Ableton months ago and only got to the first chorus before I ran out of ideas. So that audio file is only 2 minutes long, but just a few days ago a new bassline for the verses came to my head and gave me a kick to write the rest of the song. I had to do it on GarageBand because I gave up with using my laptop as it slows down things by 1000x, probably wont do things with Ableton until I get a good pc setup.
Otherwise, Im super proud of how this demo came out, I even like the drum sounds more compared to my Ableton cut.. gonna be closer to how I would want the final song to sound :)
That Ableton version was recorded with my guitars and bass and I figured that first part of the song and all the parts in that one sitting. So for this GarageBand version I had to recreate the same first half but in MIDI, still had fun doing it though.
I had to come up with a bridge and also lead guitar for that bridge, which to be honest the way I write melodies in MIDI compared to when I write with a guitar in my hands harbours different results, and what I came up with is definately different to how I expectsd it to come out, but I am very proud of it!
It’ll be while before I get to work on this song, let alone the album its on because I have to work on First Archosaurs first and also finalise the EP. I am excited to be able to work on them once I get a good pc!
