Honestly I was not impressed with this though it looked amazing. If I were to do it again I would not use any cilantro and not make the sauce and I would add Old Bay and Holy Voodoo to taste and just get cocktail sauce and serve it with that on the side so guests could add how ever much they want instead.
Below is the ingredients I used in this video If you want to give it a try.
Sauce
Juice from 1 orange and 2 limes
12 ounces tomato juice
8 ounce can of tomato sauce
2 tablespoons minced garlic
zest from the 1 orange and 2 limes
salt pepper to taste
hot sauce to taste
In a bowl squeeze the juice from orange and lime. Add tomato juice, tomato sauce, garlic, zest, salt, pepper, hot sauce and whisk combining all ingredients. Set aside
2 pounds extra large shrimp cut in half that has been de-veined, cooked with tails off
Old Bay
Holy Voodoo (or spice of choice)
2 thinly sliced celery stalks
1 diced jalapeno de-seeded
Hand full cilantro chopped
1 cucumber diced
1 green pepper diced
½ red onion diced
2 avocados diced
Put shrimp in a large bowl add Old Bay and Holy Voodoo and toss
Add celery, jalapeno, cilantro, cucumber, green pepper, red onion, avocado and toss again
Add sauce and mix again. Taste for seasoning and add more if needed then put in fridge for 1 hour
Serve
