Metroid Theme - SWJonesMusic

Welcome to the seventh instalment of my Video Game Cover Friday series. This is where I usually write about my experience with the game from my childhood. But for whatever reason Metroid just seemed to slip through my fingers and I never played it as a kid. I remember knowing about the game and hearing people talk about it, but just never got around to playing enough of it to get it firmly planted in my memory.

So for this VGC Friday I did something a little different. I researched the game and tried to get a feel for what it was trying to accomplish thematically. I also watched a bunch of Let's Plays and Walkthroughs and listened to the Metroid Theme a ton. So my interpretation of the Metroid Theme is a lonely and isolated one that drifts in the vastness of space.


For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to video game music for inspiration. It has been a major factor in almost all of my favourite games which is a big part of why I want to do these covers.
