Okay, guys, we can finally talk about it. Metro 2039, I got the chance to see it early, which is why this video exists and why I was able to put it up right as the trailer dropped. I got to see a deep dive discussion of the game directly from the developers, and I'm here to break it all down for you. Metro 2039 is of course the brand new entry coming this winter to the Metro franchise. If somehow you're not familiar, this is a dystopian post apocalyptic first person shooter series based on the novels by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The games are set in the ruins of Moscow, largely underground in the Metro tunnel system where the survivors of nuclear war have built a fragile civilization. It's bleak, it's oppressive, and it is absolutely brilliant. The last mainline Metro game was Metro exodus back in 2019, which itself was a bold departure from the claustrophobic tunnels of the earlier games, opening things up into large semi open world environments as the player traveled across the ruins of Russia...
