Enjoy the view from cabcar METX No. 8428 as we depart from Kenosha, Wisconsin aboard inbound Union Pacific North Line (UP-N) train No. 824 destined for Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago, Illinois. We’ll cover approximately half of the UP-N line, highlighting all stations from Kenosha, Wisconsin to Hubbard Woods, Illinois. This Metra route operates over the Union Pacific Kenosha Subdivision from Kenosha, WI to the junction at Clybourn in Chicago, IL. At the junction, the UP-N joins Metra’s UP Northwest Line (UP-NW) to operate over the Union Pacific Harvard Subdivision into OTC. Power for this train is METX F40PH-3 No. 140 shoving from the rear.

2. There is a 1.5-minute-long section of out-of-focus footage beginning at the departure from Lake Forest Station. I apologize for this and will ensure it doesn’t occur in future videos.
3. Excessive passenger noise prevented the continuation of viable recording beyond Hubbard Woods, but I will make another attempt at a full Kenosha-to-Chicago recording of the UP-N Line again in the future! It’s great to see Metra trains receiving such high ridership levels. Thank you for understanding!
