🌲 Do you remember Supertramp.Y (小红书) 🇨🇳 who keeps a "Metasequoia" tree in his aquarium?

In winter, this tree sheds its needles, just as it does in nature. However, it’s much colder in nature than in an apartment during winter, so the needles turn yellow but don’t fall off.

For this reason, you have to remove the needles from the tree. If you don’t, the tree uses up too much energy.

This ensures that the tree sprouts and forms new needles in the spring. In a few weeks, the tree will have regained its full splendor

The Metasequoia, or Dawn/Chinese Redwood, is a "living fossil" — once thought extinct and known only from fossils until it was rediscovered in China in 1941!
