Welcome to what is arguably the cheapest Metal Slug variant in the entire series: the Metal Slug Advance's version of the Black Hound.
It has features that would easily be a game breaker, but alas, it is held back by the fact that it's features do not function well. As is very apparent in this video, the homing missiles that are the Black Hound's primary weapons often does nothing but fly off the screen harmlessly. Not to mention, there is a slight delay between pushing the fire button and the missiles actually launching, which does lead to some frustrating moments.
Metal Slug Wikia's description on the Black Hound:
The Black Hound is a vehicle used by the Ptolemaic Army, and serve as secret mini-boss in Metal Slug 5.
The Ptolemaic Army stole a disk from the Regular Army containing intrincate details about the Metal Slug tank. Using this data, they created the Black Hounds, who are very similar to the original Metal Slug, but painted black and have devil eye, also having upgrades like a Laser Gun on it's inside, a Mortar cannon on it's back, more armor and a increase speed and jumping ability.
This Ptolemaic vehicle is used for testing purposes and went AWOL in the Corridor of Fire, killing some soldiers and the Natives. Black Hound appears in a hidden area, using his cannon, mortar launcher, the standard issue machine gun and the Laser Gun inside the slug.
In Metal Slug Advance, the player can have access to the Black Hound by finding it's corresponding card. It will use the mortars (an unlimited ammo Enemy Chaser vulcan) as a replacement for the vulcan.
I'm actually glad that they replaced the MS5 version of the Black Hound with this one, as the MS5 version, while cool, is useless and has too many weapons to control. Not to mention, in MSA, we finally get to see the recovery animation from the frontial hit stun animation of the Black Hound (We only see the stun, not the recovery in Metal Slug 5 when it is defeated). We also get to see the rear hit stun animation AND it's recovery, which I'm sure matters to no one else but myself.
