Russ Russell is a British based rock and metal record producer and recording engineer. We met up with him at Parlour Studios in Northamptonshire to talk about the studio's rebuild and his production & recording techniques. Mike Exeter stopped by to chat while both were on brief breaks from the studio.
Based in the UK Russ was also the guitarist in the psychedelic band Draw, and now plays in British metal band Absolute Power and cosmic mind metal trio, Reformat.
To Quote Russ on what he's worked on: "I've worked with every kind of metal, rock, classical, blues, jazz, pop, acoustic, dub, bhangra, country, hip hop, trip hop, sea shanty, drum & bass, drill & bass, psychedelic, reggae, indie, space folk, prog, mantra, tap dance, breakbeat, heads down, no nonsense glam thrash boogie..."
Some of the artists and bands that Russ has produced/engineered include: Napalm Death, Evile, Dimmu Borgir, The Ga-Ga's, The Wildhearts, Space Ritual, The Exploited, New Model Army, Sikth, Jet Plane Landing, Amorphis, Junket, The Peccadillos, Draw, Jnr Loaded, Defenestration and lots more.
