Dilmer Valecillos | Meta Quest Pro With 4 Monitors In Mixed Reality (MacOS Ventura & Windows 11) @dilmerv | Uploaded December 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 minute ago.
Today I used my Meta Quest Pro with Immersed VR and macOS Ventura, honestly it works and personally I didn't think it would work as well as my PC setup but let's find out below if I liked it or not π ?
β I hardly noticed any latency with YouTube video playback and Adobe Premier after making a few resolution changes.
I have 2 physical monitors, one is an external Apple Studio Display 5K & the MacBook Pro M1 native laptop display.
The other 2 monitors shown on this video are virtual displays where each is about 1440 by 1080 and Immersed VR allows you to add many more, however 4 total perform the best for my setup.
π Meta Quest Pro Passthrough features which I used today:
- Full passthrough where the entire surroundings are mixed reality.
- Keyboard tracking passthrough which adds a 3D overlay relative to your real world keyboard.
- Passthrough area - to draw a section to cut a hole through the real world.
π Two apps I used in this video are:
Adobe Premier: worked well and it ran fast since the M1 gives it a huge performance boost which I think is why this setup works now, otherwise latency & lower performance from older MACs would have made this impossible to use.
Discord: it ran great, I didn't like the fact that text is too small when all 4 monitors are in my field of view, yes I can bring it closer but it takes too much time to move it closer to me, maybe a way to place them on my desk flat could be cool, I didn't see this option yet.
β Not sure why I can't rotate monitors, I would love to have the capability to rotate it in any way I like, again it could be cool to set certain monitors flat on a desk.
β The whole setup with macOS Ventura was to me better than on Windows 11, I remember spending a lot of time getting my PC to connect to the Immersed VR agent but with macOS I had no connection issues.
π‘ Do I recommend it Immersed VR ? Absolutely and I am currently using this technology on a daily basis for 2-3 hours during coding sessions and video editing.
